Lindenwood PPE Reading Group Secures First Place in PPE League Competition
April 5, 2023
The Lindenwood Philosophy Politics and Economics Reading Group cinched first-place at the PPE League Competition at the University of Ottawa in Kansas on April 5, 2023. Competing against teams from Ottawa University, Pittsburgh State University, Park University, and Emporia State University, Lindenwood emerged victorious after competing in four separate events, including a commercial competition in defense of rule of law, a Settlers of Catan competition, a game theory prisoner’s dilemma competition, and a policy case resolution competition. This was Lindenwood’s first time participating in the competition, and the Group looks forward to defending its championship in 2024.

The Lindenwood PPE Reading Group is a weekly gathering of Lindenwood University students and faculty members who share an interest in politics, philosophy, and economics. The group is advised by Hammond fellows Dr. Joseph Steineger, Dr. Dale Walton, and Dr. Jeanie Thies. Anyone who is interested in these topics is welcome and encouraged to attend. Meetings take place in the informal environment of McCluer Lounge and live-streamed through Microsoft Teams.
